Defunct

English, please.
This really flips my switch. I’m babysitting and the little one is watching Dora the explorer, all day. Dora continously speaks spanish. Last time I checked, this is America and we speak english.
I also changed the channel and there was a chinese cartoon, just like Dora but not spanish, and they were teaching chinese. Are you kidding me? Seriously? If I had children in no way, shape or form would they be allowed to watch this bullshit.
Let’s try having cartoons that teach english. We don’t live in spain or china. Cable is getting out of control. You pay for a billion channels and half of them you can’t even watch. They’re in spanish, chinese, indian and every other god damn language.
Why not have a french show? and italian show? Something exquisite, worth learning. I wouldn’t mind learning french. It’s classy. I certainly don’t mind learning Italian, I eat their food.
I really love that some people live in a little isolated bubble and think that foreign languages mean nothing to their life. Also, french = classy?? Can we get a little more stereotypical? Besides, did this person ever think about the fact that EVERY SINGLE OTHER CARTOON (other than those specifically created to include other languages) teaches English?? Not to mention most radio stations, most other people, most TV stations — are flooding children with English-only communications?
Something worth learning?? How about the language spoken by the largest ethnic minority in the United Staes? 1 in 10 U.S. residents speak spanish in the home and, even though over half these people say they speak English “very well”, what could educating ourselves a bit hurt?
The tragedy is that someday, this person will have children and try their best to continue their cycle of ignorance. How pathetic.
Amazing. Song.
Wolf Parade - I’ll Believe In Anything.
“And I could give you my apologies by handing over my neologies, and I could take away the shaking knees, and I could give you all the olive trees — oh, look at the trees and look at my face and look at a place far away from here.”
By far, my favorite Wolf Parade song. It should be yours, too. In fact, I’d pay you money to make it one of your favorite Wolf Parade songs. What do you want? A nickel? How about a shiny dime?
It reminds each of us that nobody knows you, and nobody gives a damn.
One of my favorite songs in the world.
an absurdly long-winded poorly written review over one of the greatest albums i’ve heard this year.
Didn’t realize you couldn’t leave comments at this host. So I’ve moved. Enjoy the new one, please!
